Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca confirmed that five people were killed, while 44 others were injured, including 10 in serious condition, as a result of the forest fires that swept the areas located in southwestern Turkey.
Fires broke out in the fields located between the "Cinar" regions in the "Diyarbakir" province and "Mazidaghi" in the "Mardin" province, Turkish media reported.
These fires were brought under control thanks to the efforts made by Firefighters.
The teams were sent from Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Department, the Forest Management Directorate and firefighters, in addition to 112 emergency health teams from the provinces of Diyarbakir and Mardin and neighboring provinces to participate in efforts to extinguish the fires.
