Five people died, and 31 others were injured in a massive fire that broke out at a cosmetics factory in an industrial area in the Himachal Pradesh state in northern India.

According to the police, as reported by the Indian network "NDTV" today (Saturday), search and rescue operations are still underway for eight individuals who are listed as missing.

Additionally, the authorities announced the death of one woman, and four other bodies were recovered from the scene of the incident that occurred yesterday.

The police indicated that the firefighting teams have been working to control the fire for nearly 24 hours since it started and have not yet managed to extinguish it.

The combustible materials used in the production of perfumes and other cosmetic products have fueled the flames.

A team of forensic experts will conduct a site inspection and gather necessary evidence as part of the investigation into the incident.
