Authorities in the Philippines have reported that five people died, while two others were injured in a bridge collapse at a construction site in Davao city.

According to the Filipino news channel ABS-CBN, the incident occurred while seven workers were installing the side panel of the bridge using a truck.

The bridge collapsed, trapping them under the debris. Two workers suffered severe injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the critical importance of adhering to safety regulations and ensuring proper construction practices to safeguard workers' lives.

In addition to this tragedy, the Philippines is also grappling with the approach of Typhoon "Doksuri," which has prompted authorities to initiate evacuations in coastal communities in the northern part of the country.

As reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, the typhoon is accompanied by powerful winds reaching speeds of up to 185 kilometers per hour.

The storm is expected to make landfall or pass near the Babuyan Islands or the province of Cagayan Northeastern by tomorrow afternoon.

In light of this impending natural disaster, authorities have issued evacuation orders for residents living in coastal communities, urging them to leave their homes.

Fishermen have also been asked to bring their boats ashore for safety measures. Police personnel have been deployed to persuade reluctant individuals to comply with the evacuation orders.
