Local reports from Gaza indicated that five Israeli soldiers lost their lives in the Gaza Strip on Monday.
As per local Israeli media sources, the Israeli military confirmed the death of an officer who perished during clashes in northern Gaza on the same day.
Al Jazeera, meanwhile, reported that five Israeli soldiers were killed during confrontations with Palestinian factions.
The deceased soldier has been identified as Maj. (res.) Itamar Levin Fridman, aged 34, hailing from Eilat.
Fridman held the position of team commander in the elite LOTAR Eilat unit, according to the Times of Israel.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Israeli army, it said that the total number of Israeli soldiers killed in the Palestinian territory since the start of ground operations in October last year to 376.
