On Tuesday, international coalition forces killed five ISIS militants responsible for car bombings in eastern Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The London-based observatory stated in a press release, "Early this morning, international coalition forces, accompanied by anti-terrorism units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), conducted an airdrop operation targeting a house in the village of Al-Dahla, within SDF-controlled areas in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside."

The statement added that "fierce armed clashes erupted between the raiding forces and ISIS cells fortified inside the house, resulting in the death of five ISIS militants who were responsible for car bombings in the area."

The observatory noted that on May 19, two ISIS leaders were arrested during an airdrop operation carried out by international coalition forces and the SDF in the town of Umm Gharbah in the northern Deir ez-Zor desert, near the Syrian-Iraqi border. The operation coincided with the imposition of a security cordon and the deployment of forces.

According to the observatory, "International coalition forces continue their security operations to pursue ISIS remnants following an increase in their activities and attacks within Syrian territory."
