Five people were injured in a shooting inside a residential building in the Tiergarten district of Berlin, German media reported, citing security sources.
According to the reports, the injured were found inside an apartment on Fischmann Street in the Tiergarten area. The shooting took place in a fifth floor flat, police said.
Berlin police confirmed that several suspects connected to the incident were arrested at the scene. Emergency responders provided first aid to a man and a woman who sustained serious injuries, along with other victims who were also wounded.
Two of the injured suffered serious gunshot wounds, and all five were taken to hospital for treatment. One of the victims managed to reach a nearby hospital independently, where police have since secured the entrances as a precaution.
Authorities have cordoned off the surrounding area while investigations into the circumstances and motive behind the shooting continue.
