Five people were injured after a helicopter crashed on a remote beach in the US state of Hawaii on Thursday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
The aircraft went down on Kalalau Beach along the Nā Pali Coast on the island of Kauai, according to the Kauai Fire Department. The helicopter was carrying a pilot and four passengers at the time of the crash.
Officials said the extent of the injuries remains unclear, with emergency teams responding to the crash site.
Helicopter tours are a popular way to explore the dramatic cliffs, beaches, and waterfalls of the Nā Pali Coast, a region that is largely inaccessible except by foot or boat.
The incident highlights ongoing safety concerns surrounding aerial tourism in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
