A massive fire broke out at a transport facility near El Paso International Airport in Texas on Tuesday, leaving five people injured and sending a thick column of black smoke over the border city.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which led to the collapse of the building’s walls and roof.
According to Robert Arvizo, Deputy Chief of the El Paso Fire Department, more than 100 firefighters were deployed to battle the flames.
It remains unclear how many people were inside the facility when the fire erupted.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, airport operations were not disrupted, confirmed Laura Cruz Acosta, a spokesperson for the City of El Paso.
