In a building explosion in northern Paris, five people were injured, according to the police and civil protection in France on Saturday.

The cause of the explosion remains unknown, and the Paris prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into the incident, reported French newspaper "Le Figaro."

French police stated that around 100 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, along with approximately 20 firefighting vehicles to combat the fire.

This incident comes after another explosion in June last year, which claimed the lives of three individuals after a building caught fire and collapsed in an area near central Paris, known for its tourist attractions.

In January 2019, four people, including a firefighter, lost their lives, and 66 others were injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak that destroyed a building near central Paris.

The recent explosion in northern Paris has raised concerns about building safety and the need for thorough investigations into the incidents. Authorities will focus on determining the cause of the explosion and taking appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

As the investigation progresses, it is essential to ensure the safety of residents and to implement necessary precautions to avoid such accidents. The authorities will collaborate with experts and conduct inspections to assess the structural integrity of buildings in the area.

The incident serves as a reminder of the significance of regular maintenance, adherence to safety regulations, and prompt actions to address any potential hazards. Public awareness campaigns on gas leak detection and safety measures can also help prevent such incidents in the future.

The safety and well-being of residents remain a priority, and efforts will continue to enhance safety protocols and response mechanisms to minimize the risk of such incidents in Paris and other urban areas.
