The fourth group of Palestinian returnees crossed from Egypt into the Gaza Strip early Thursday through the Rafah border crossing, according to reports from the Egyptian side of the terminal.

According to Al Qahera News, the group consists mainly of Palestinian patients who had received medical treatment in Egyptian hospitals. After completing all required administrative and documentation procedures, the patients entered Gaza through the Palestinian gate of the Rafah crossing.

The return marks the fourth consecutive day of the crossing’s official reopening, following a suspension that lasted nearly a year and a half due to Israel’s occupation of the crossing. Qassem noted that Rafah has resumed operations for the return of patients, wounded individuals, and civilians who had left Gaza for medical care during the closure.

In parallel, the area in front of the Egyptian side of the crossing witnessed a heavy flow of humanitarian aid trucks. Dozens, and in some cases hundreds, of vehicles loaded with thousands of tons of relief supplies arrived as part of Egypt’s 132nd humanitarian convoy bound for Gaza. The aid is being delivered through the Karam Abu Salem crossing as part of ongoing Egyptian efforts to bolster humanitarian support for the besieged enclave.
