The US military has carried out another lethal strike on a boat in the eastern Pacific, killing four people on board, according to US Southern Command.

Officials said the vessel was operated by what they described as a designated terrorist organization and was carrying narcotics along a known trafficking route.

Southern Command stated on X that four suspected drug-trafficking militants were killed in the operation.

The strike is the latest in a series of US attacks on boats alleged to be smuggling drugs in the Caribbean and the Pacific in recent months, often without the public release of evidence to justify the actions.

Media reports estimate that nearly 90 people have been killed in such operations so far. US authorities have labeled the victims drug traffickers and terrorists.

The killings have drawn sharp criticism from human rights experts at the United Nations, who argue that the extrajudicial nature of the strikes violates international law.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth recently signaled that more operations are planned, telling ministers at a recent meeting that the military has “only just begun” sinking drug boats and eliminating traffickers at sea.
