Four people were injured after an oil tanker was targeted near the coast of Oman, north of Khasab Port in the Musandam governorate, authorities confirmed.
Oman’s Maritime Security Center said in a statement, carried by the Oman News Agency, that the tanker SKYLIGHT, sailing under the flag of Palau, was attacked approximately five nautical miles north of Khasab Port.
All 20 crew members were evacuated from the vessel, and the injured individuals were transferred to medical facilities for treatment.
The Maritime Security Center said rescue operations were conducted in coordination with military, security, and civilian authorities, underscoring Oman’s preparedness to respond to maritime incidents.
Officials have not disclosed details about the nature of the attack or the identity of those responsible. An investigation is underway as authorities assess the circumstances surrounding the incident.
