4 Dead After Cyclone Hits France

Cyclone Garance has left four people dead after sweeping through the French overseas territory of Réunion, bringing devastating winds reaching speeds of 155 kilometers per hour.

Local authorities announced a downgrade of Garance to a severe tropical storm and lifted the red alert previously in place.

The cyclone forced 953 people to seek refuge in emergency shelters, while widespread damage led to power outages affecting 160,000 households and water supply disruptions impacting 310,000 residents.
