Four people were killed and up to three people are still missing after heavy rain caused flash flooding in the Pennsylvania town of Upper Macfield on Saturday, Bucks County officials said on Sunday.
Authorities are still looking for three people: two brothers — a 9-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl — and an adult female.
Police said the worst flooding occurred along Route 532 between Aqueduct Road and Wrightstown Road.
The victims were not residents of the area, Upper Macfield Fire Chief Tim Brewer said at a news conference Sunday.
Brewer noted that two of the victims got out of their cars before being swept away. The third victim was in their car when the floodwaters took them away.
Search efforts will continue Sunday for the three people still missing, though Pryor said he was "fairly certain" it would become a recovery mission.
Multiple roads are closed at this time due to heavy debris.
"I thought Hurricane Ida was the benchmark, last September or the September before for sure, I thought that it was the benchmark. This is a new benchmark," Brewer said. "In my 44 years, I've never seen anything like it."
