On Thursday, Hamas handed over an Israeli female soldier to the Red Cross in northern Gaza's Jabalia area.

The Israeli military confirmed that 20-year-old Agam Berger had crossed into Israeli-controlled territory and stated that more prisoners were expected to arrive soon.

Hamas is releasing three Israeli captives and five Thai nationals in exchange for 110 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 minors.

Meanwhile, large crowds of Palestinians and resistance fighters gathered in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, to welcome the returning Palestinian detainees.

Despite more than 15 months of war that has resulted in over 47,000 Palestinian deaths, Israel has not succeeded in eliminating Hamas in Gaza.

Earlier this month, Israel agreed to a ceasefire deal with Hamas, which remains active in Gaza and continues to facilitate prisoner exchanges.
