The third meeting of the Libyan constitutional track kicked off in Hurghada in the presence of the delegations of the parliament and the High State Council. It will be held during the period from February 9 to February 11 under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

It was attended by Chairman of Libya's High National Election Commission Emad al-Sayeh. It discussed holding the referendum on the Libyan constitution.

During Tuesday's meeting,  the head of the National Committee on Libyan Affairs stressed the importance of investing in the negative atmosphere that the Libyan crisis is currently experiencing by choosing a new executive authority and the outputs of the 5 + 5 military committee.

Al-Sayeh affirmed the commission’s readiness to hold the referendum on the Libyan constitution.

The new UN envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, addressed the delegations of the House of Representatives and the High State Council to participate in the third constitutional track meetings in Hurghada in his first appearance after taking office, stressing the importance of having positive results so as not to affect the rest of the political and military tracks.

The heads of the two Libyan delegations thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their support, noting that Egypt only aims the stability of Libya.
