38 Taliban Militants Killed in Security Operation in Afghanistan

At least 38 Taliban militants were killed in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar on Monday, according to the Afghan authorities.

In a statement, the Afghan Ministry of Defense said that the forces targeted 38 Taliban fighters in Arghandab and Zahari in Kandahar province. they were planning to launch attacks on the National Security and Defense Forces.

During the clashes, Afghan forces destroyed 3 Taliban strongholds and a large number of their weapons and ammunition.

Two days ago, a group of “Taliban” militants abducted a bus carrying 45 passengers in Herat city in Afghanistan, Shamshad TV channel said.

According to informed sources, the incident took place at 6:00 am (Local time). The armed militants took the bus to an unknown location.

The sources added that Police have launched an operation to secure the safe release of the passengers.

It is worth mentioning that, the Taliban militant group has conducted scores of targeted attacks against civilians and military officials in recent years.

The armed outfit considers anyone working for the government, NATO, and U.S.-led troops as a target.
