Today, Saturday, the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly of the Heads of State and Government kicked off at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Several African leaders from the African Union member states are participating in the two-day meetings.
Several issues are set to be discussed during the meeting, mainly Education, as it is the selected theme of 2024.
One of the major topics for the 2024 agenda is "Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality and relevant learning in Africa."
Moreover, African leaders are expected to bring several continental and regional issues, to the table including the war in Gaza, and the escalations in Sudan, in addition to several issues related to peace, security, and development in Africa.
