At least 35 people were killed and 30 others injured in a devastating bus crash on the Damascus–Deir ez-Zor highway in central Syria on Saturday, according to authorities.
The accident occurred between the cities of Al-Sukhnah and Palmyra, according to Syria's Health Ministry, which said emergency teams are continuing to respond to the incident.
The Defense Ministry deployed helicopters to evacuate the injured and transport victims to Homs Military Hospital, while Interior Ministry rescue teams remained at the scene carrying out medical evacuations and recovery operations.
Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash.
