The 33rd convoy of the “Zad Al-Izza” humanitarian and relief initiative has set off for the Gaza Strip, carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and essential aid, local media reported.
The convoy departed from the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing amid intensive coordination efforts by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) and other relevant authorities. The aid shipment includes staples such as flour, rice, legumes, and canned goods, as well as medical supplies, blankets, shelter materials, and personal care items.
For the first time this week, the convoy also includes fuel trucks, providing a crucial lifeline for Gaza’s healthcare facilities and bakeries struggling with severe energy shortages.
ERC teams are maintaining continuous coordination with their Palestinian counterparts and international organizations operating in Gaza to ensure the aid reaches those most in need, according to reports. Field teams are also updating daily aid lists to match the evolving humanitarian situation, reflecting the extensive efforts of on-ground personnel and supporting agencies.
The convoy underscores ongoing humanitarian support for Gaza as the region continues to face critical shortages and urgent needs.
