A few minutes ago, the 31st Arab Summit kicked off in Algeria with participation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and several Arab Leaders and presidents.

The summit is set to witness Tunisia's handing over the Arab Summit's presidency to Algeria.

Tebboune will address the summit's inaugural session, followed by a speech by Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit.

On Wednesday, a closed consultation session will be held, following a working session, in which Arab leaders will give speeches.

A joint press conference between Abul Gheit and Ramtane Lamamra will be held by the conclusion of the summit on Wednesday.

The two-day event will touch on the Palestinian cause, supporting Lebanon, Somalia, and Comoros, developments of the situation in Libya, Yemen, and Syria, the Turkish violations of Iraq's sovereignty, combating terrorism, and Iranian interference in Arab domestic affairs.

President Sisi's participation in the Arab summit comes as part of Egypt's keenness on boosting fraternal and cooperation ties with all Arab countries, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

The president's participation in the summit also comes within the framework of Egypt's pivotal role in promoting mechanisms of joint Arab action to serve interests of all Arab nations, added the spokesman.

The Arab Summit is a chance for coordination and consultation among the Arab countries, especially regarding endeavors to preserve the region's stability and security, and promote Arab interests, the spokesman said, noting that it is held in light of ongoing challenges at the regional and international levels.
