More than three thousand individuals have been evacuated in the past two days from Hunan Province in the northwest part of the country, official media sources in China said on Monday.

This evacuation comes in response to heavy rainfall that has been affecting the region.

Meteorological experts in China, as cited by the English-language news outlet Channel News Asia, anticipate further rainfall across several provinces and the possibility of flooding over the next couple of days.

The Chinese government has urged the populace to take additional precautions and measures as the nation braces for potentially widespread flooding.

This is occurring concurrently with the passage of Typhoon "Saulo" through the South China Sea. The typhoon is expected to reach Guangdong Province early next Friday.

It's worth noting that China has witnessed heavy rainfall and flooding over the past few weeks during an unusually rainy summer.

In late July, storms triggered by Typhoon "Dujuan" led to record-breaking rainfall across China, with Beijing experiencing its most intense rainy season in 140 years.
