At least 30 people were killed and several others injured in a tragic road accident in northern Nigeria, local authorities said.
The crash occurred on a highway in the Gwarzo area of Kano State when a truck travelling at speed reportedly lost control. According to officials, the vehicle veered into other traffic, triggering a devastating collision.
A spokesperson for the Kano state government said the incident involved a semi-trailer truck that struck another vehicle due to reckless driving. The impact caused multiple fatalities and left several people with serious injuries.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to assist victims and transport the wounded to nearby hospitals. Authorities said investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
Road accidents remain a major public safety concern in Nigeria, where poor infrastructure, speeding and traffic violations frequently contribute to deadly incidents.
