3 Missing in Japan Landslide

Three people are missing after a landslide buried a residential building in western Japan early Friday morning, according to police and firefighters.

The landslide occurred in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, as heavy rains continued to batter the region.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued warnings for torrential rains primarily in western Japan, urging residents to exercise extreme caution due to the increased risk of landslides and flooding in low-lying areas.

The JMA reported that the weather conditions remain highly unstable as heavy rains are expected to persist along the Pacific coast from western to eastern Japan until Saturday.

The agency has called for vigilance and preparedness as the adverse weather conditions continue to pose significant threats to safety and property.
