At least three people were killed and five others injured after a shooting erupted inside a restaurant in Glendale, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, late Sunday evening.
According to Glendale Police Department officer Moroni Mendez, authorities received emergency calls reporting gunfire at around 7:45 PM local time from El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse.
The incident triggered a swift police and emergency response to the busy dining venue.
Local news outlet KPHO-TV reported that the three fatalities occurred as a result of gunshot wounds. Five others were injured, either by bullets or shrapnel, and have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been publicly disclosed.
Police believe the shooting involved multiple suspects. While no one is currently in custody, investigators are actively questioning several individuals connected to the scene. Authorities have yet to identify a clear motive behind the attack.
The Glendale Police Department has increased patrols in the area and is urging any witnesses to come forward with information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
