3 Killed, 3 Injured in Washington D.C. Shooting

Three people were killed, and three others were wounded on Saturday after an armed man shot a group of passersby in a street in Washington, D.C, CNN reported on Sunday.

"The three wounded persons are in stable condition as they suffered from non-life-threatening injuries," Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said in a press conference.

He added that the shooter was in a vehicle before opening the fire on the group as a security camera nearby the scene of the accident captured the scene.

The official said that the vehicle carried various persons and it is possible that many people opened the fire alongside the detected shooter, saying: "We believe that more than one person was definitely firing," he said.

However, authorities managed to find the used gun in the attack at the scene.

Contee commented: "We know that this issue is not unique to Washington, D.C.," adding, "I think it speaks to the overall sickness that we’re witnessing in our community and that sickness being gun violence."

The motive behind the attack is still unclear; however, the process of investigations started immediately after the accident.
