At least three people were killed and 15 others injured after a Pakistani airstrike targeted a residential area in Kabul overnight, Afghan media reported.

According to Afghan broadcaster Seday-e Afghan, Pakistani Air Force jets struck a house in Kabul’s 21st municipal district, resulting in civilian casualties.

The attack comes amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan leadership, accused Pakistan’s military of carrying out multiple airstrikes targeting several areas including Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia and Paktika.

Mujahid said some of the strikes hit civilian homes, leading to casualties among women and children, while others struck uninhabited desert areas.

He strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as unjust and warning that such actions would not go unanswered.

In a separate statement, Mujahid also claimed Pakistani aircraft targeted fuel storage facilities belonging to Kam Air near Kandahar International Airport. The fuel depots reportedly supply both civilian airlines and aircraft operated by the United Nations.

The latest escalation follows a military operation launched by Afghanistan in late February against Pakistani forces along the Durand Line, a disputed frontier that Kabul does not officially recognize.

Pakistan said it responded with artillery and military action, later describing the confrontation with Afghanistan as an “open war.”
