A medical emergency helicopter crashed Monday on Highway 50 in Sacramento, California, leaving three people injured.
Officials confirmed there were no patients on board at the time of the accident.
Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarthy reported that the crew members were transported to local hospitals for treatment after the helicopter went down on the highway’s east side.
The aircraft, operated by REACH, provides emergency transport for critically ill patients across the western United States. The company stated it is currently assessing the situation and the condition of the crew.
