3 dead, 4 injured in Wilmington shooting, North Carolina

At least three people were killed and four others were injured in an overnight shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina, police said on Saturday.

The police received the call at around midnight, acknowledging that there had been a house party at the location prior to the shooting, Lt. Irving, a Watch Commander with the Wilmington Police Department said.

The officers found seven victims at the scene, three of whom were dead, police said. Investigators are still working on the crime near 7th Street and Kidder Street, trying to identify any suspects.

In the same vein, Irving revealed that there is no one in custody and no motive at this time, affirming that the general public is not in any danger.

The police added that the conditions of the injured victims are unknown at this time.

Moreover, the names of those killed will be released once their families and next of kin have been notified, the police noted.
