The 27th edition of the IHF Men’s World Championship will kick off on Wednesday with an opening match between hosts Egypt and Chile.

The tournament will be held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021 in Egypt.

The opening match will kick off at  Cairo Stadium Sports Hall at 19:00 CLT, as it will be the second time for the Pharaohs to host the tournament since 1999.

Egypt became the first non-European country to host the tournament twice in 1999 and 2021 as it managed to host the youth championship also before in 1993, and 2009.

The Pharaohs were drawn in Group G, alongside North Macedonia, Chile, and Sweden.
