At least 27 people were killed and more than 60 others were injured after a fire tore through a crowded pub in northern Bangkok, Thailand, late on Sunday, according to Thai police.
The blaze broke out shortly before midnight at the venue in Bangkok's Chatuchak district and quickly engulfed the building. The victims included 18 women and nine men aged between 20 and 35.
According to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, many of the victims died from smoke inhalation after seeking refuge in the pub's restrooms. He visited the scene and expressed condolences to the victims' families.
