Officials have confirmed that at least 25 people were killed during terrorist attacks on four military bases in central Somalia on Saturday.
Somali army spokesperson Abukar Mohamed Hassan reported that the militant group Al-Shabaab carried out a "coordinated attack" from multiple directions in the Eldheir district, utilizing suicide bombings.
"Our national armed forces and local armed forces fought fiercely to prevent the militants from taking control of the area, resulting in the death of more than 20 terrorists," he added.
Hassan also stated that at least two Somali soldiers and three local clan militia members, who fight alongside the army, were killed in the attack.
