A combination of intensified southwest monsoon winds and tropical cyclones has claimed the lives of 25 people and left 13 others injured in the Philippines.
According to a statement from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), eight individuals are still missing, and the disaster has impacted nearly 1.45 million people.
The NDRRMC reported that over 5,000 individuals have sought refuge in 193 evacuation centers, while around 9,000 families are receiving assistance outside these shelters.
The widespread destruction has also affected the country’s infrastructure, with damages estimated at 22.57 million pesos, and a total of 48 buildings sustaining significant damage.
