A devastating tropical storm has caused widespread flooding and landslides in northeastern Philippines, leaving at least 23 people dead.
The disaster swept away vehicles and forced authorities to rush rescue efforts using motorised boats to save stranded villagers, some of whom were trapped on rooftops.
The government has shut down schools and offices for the second consecutive day across the main island of Luzon, with the exception of emergency services, to protect millions of residents.
Tropical Storm "Trami" struck Isabela province in the northeast just after midnight, triggering the catastrophic events.
By dawn, the storm hit the mountainous town of Aguinaldo in Ifugao province, packing winds of up to 95 km/h (59 mph) and gusts reaching 160 km/h (99 mph).
The aftermath has left entire communities in dire need of aid as rescue operations continue.
