At least twenty-two people were injured on Saturday following a powerful explosion at an agricultural chemicals and fertilizer plant on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The blast caused significant damage across nearby neighborhoods, shattering windows and sending debris into surrounding streets.
Local reports confirmed that the hospital in Ezeiza, the city where the incident occurred, received multiple casualties suffering from cuts caused by broken glass as well as burns linked to the explosion.
Emergency teams and firefighters rushed to the scene to contain a large blaze that engulfed part of the industrial facility. Aerial footage showed thick columns of smoke rising high above the site.
Authorities issued warnings urging residents in nearby areas to keep their windows closed due to the risk of potential toxic emissions. Despite the severity of the blast, Ministro Pistarini International Airport, located close to the industrial zone, continued operating normally.
