Pakistan's military announced on Saturday that security forces killed 21 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the military's media wing, the operations were carried out over the past 72 hours following intense exchanges of fire in the Miranshah area and surrounding parts of North Waziristan.

The army said four senior militant commanders were among those killed, including Khalid Raza, known as "Salar," and Imran, alias "Ayan." Pakistani authorities described the operation as a major blow to a militant network active in the region.

The military alleged that the militants were supported by India, a claim New Delhi has repeatedly denied in similar cases.

The slain commanders were reportedly wanted in connection with multiple attacks that killed security personnel and civilians.

The latest operations come amid Pakistan's ongoing campaign against armed groups along its border regions, following airstrikes conducted earlier this year against suspected militant hideouts.
