20 Development Partners and International Finance Institutions issued a Joint Communique Pledge to Coordinate Efforts on the “NWFE” Program to Meet National Aspirations and International Goals.

The joint Communique commends the government’s efforts to modernize the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and work to fulfill its commitments towards low-carbon development pathways.

It emphasizes the vital role of joint efforts to mobilize innovative financing within the NWFE program and mobilize investments in technology-based solutions to confront climate change.

The institutions that signed the statement include the EBRD, AfDB, IFAD, EIB, WBG, IFC, AIIB, IsDB, EU, the United States of America (USA), Germany, Denmark, United Kingdom (UK), JICA, AFD, OPEC, UN, GFANZ and USAID.

At the end of the high-level roundtable held by the Ministry of International Cooperation, in the presence of Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, who announced the issuance of a joint communique that was developed in coordination with 20 development partners, international financing institutions, and global alliances in the field of climate action.

The communique included appraisal from the institutions for the intensive efforts that were made by the Egyptian state to fulfill its pledges in the climate agenda, especially updating the nationally determined contributions (NDCs), which contributed to implementing the goals of NWFE.

The statement also emphasizes and confirms the continuation of development partners, international institutions, and all relevant parties to support national efforts to complete all projects included in the platform.

The communique emphasizes continued cooperation for the successful implementation of the NWFE program, which is consistent with the broader goals of the global development agenda and climate agenda.
