Two US Navy fighter jets collided mid-air during an air show in the US state of Idaho on Sunday, forcing all four pilots to eject safely before the aircraft crashed, according to local media reports.
The incident occurred during the Gunfighter Skies air show near Mountain Home Air Force Base in northwestern US.
Organizers confirmed that an accident involving two aircraft took place roughly two miles northwest of the base, adding that rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site.
Local broadcaster KOMO News reported that all four crew members aboard the two EA-18G Growler fighter jets parachuted to safety without injuries.
Videos circulating on social media showed the aircraft colliding in the air before crashing to the ground and erupting into flames, while parachutes carrying the pilots descended nearby.
Amelia Umayam confirmed that the crashed aircraft were based on Whidbey Island in the state of Washington.
According to NBC News, the accident forced organizers to cancel the remainder of the air show and temporarily shut down the military base as emergency crews secured the area and investigators launched an inquiry into the collision.
