Dr. Abdel Masih Samaan, Professor of Environmental Studies at Ain Shams University, said that the global average human lifespan increased by about 12 years in the period from 1960 to 2020, pointing out that this is thanks to advanced medical care at the global level.
Abdel Masih Samaan added, in special statements on Channel One, that recent studies indicated that in light of the extreme changes in temperature, torrents, rain, and extreme cold, this led to a decrease in the average life expectancy by about 6 months, according to one of the recent scientific studies that was conducted on Over the course of several years.
He pointed out that according to recent data from the World Health Organization, nearly 12,000 disasters have occurred due to extreme climate-related phenomena, which has led to more than 2 million deaths.
He explained that these deaths, which have reached 2 million cases, in recent years are due to increasing temperatures and hurricanes, which changes the pattern of human behavior.
