The World Food Programme (WFP) reported on Saturday that the lives of over two million Palestinians in Gaza have been brought to a standstill due to the ongoing Israeli blockade and hostilities, which have persisted for over 14 months.

In a statement shared on its official account on Platform X and reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the UN program emphasized the dire conditions in Gaza. It stated, “Despite our relentless efforts to provide life-saving assistance, the current conflict, insecurity, and restrictions make it impossible to meet the escalating needs.”

The WFP called for an urgent ceasefire, highlighting that the delay in halting hostilities has left more than two million Palestinians without access to basic necessities like food, water, and shelter.

Displaced Palestinians living in makeshift tents made of fabric and plastic sheets face harsh conditions, especially as winter intensifies. They lack basic essentials such as adequate clothing, bedding, and heating.

The Israeli-imposed blockade has exacerbated starvation across Gaza, particularly in northern regions, where intensified bombardments and blockades aim to force residents to migrate southward.
