A single-engine plane crashed while attempting to land in Truckee, California, resulting in the deaths of two individuals on Saturday, according to officials from the local airport and other law enforcement agencies.

According to FlightAware, a plane tracking website, the Daher TBM 900 aircraft took off from Denver, Colorado, yesterday afternoon, as reported by ABC News today.

Police stated in a press release that the plane crashed around 6:38 p.m. "near the Glenshire Drive area" and "Olympic Boulevard, which is a northwest intersection of Truckee Tahoe Airport."

California airport officials mentioned that investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive at the crash site Sunday morning.

Truckee, California, is located near Lake Tahoe and is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.

The area is known for its scenic beauty and attracts tourists from around the world. Plane crashes, although relatively rare, can occur due to various factors such as mechanical failure, adverse weather conditions, or pilot error.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are responsible for investigating aviation accidents in the United States to determine their causes and prevent future incidents.

The Daher TBM 900 is a single-engine turboprop aircraft commonly used for personal and business travel.
