In a tragic incident, four people have lost their lives, and dozens more have been injured following a collision between a passenger train and a freight train in Pardubice, a city located east of the Czech capital, Prague.
The accident occurred early Thursday morning, as reported by a spokesperson for the rescue services.
The railway fire brigade spokesperson confirmed that numerous individuals sustained injuries, with some suffering severe wounds.
The crash happened overnight in Pardubice, situated approximately 100 kilometers from Prague.
According to the railway company, the express train involved was carrying about 200 passengers and was en route from Prague to Košice, a city in eastern Slovakia.
Emergency response teams have been actively working on the scene to provide medical assistance and support to the injured.
