A train accident in Syria’s Tartous province on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to 11 others.
According to the Syrian Civil Defense, the incident occurred when a train collided with a civilian vehicle carrying workers while it crossed the tracks near the town of Al-Mantar.
Emergency and disaster response teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. They worked to remove the vehicle from the tracks and secure the area, while the injured were transported to local hospitals with the assistance of civilians present at the site.
The Civil Defense reiterated its call for the public to strictly follow safety procedures and use designated railway crossings to prevent similar accidents and protect lives.
