The first ship crossed the shipping course of the Suez Canal shortly after the return of navigation.

This came after the Suez Canal Authority decided to run the northern convoy coming from the Mediterranean towards the Red Sea.

The navigation was disrupted in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after the Panamanian container ship, EVER GIVEN, ran aground.

In an official statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority sent a message of reassurance regarding the movement of navigation in the canal and its regularity again through the course of the old Suez Canal.

He stressed that the Suez Canal spares no effort to ensure the regularity of navigation and service of global trade traffic.
