Qatari Finance Minister Ali Sharif Al Emadi arrived on Tuesday in Cairo, passing by the Saudi airspace, heading a delegation from Doha for a several-hour visit, according to the Deutsche Press Agency (DPA).
Emadi is set to inaugurate St Regis Hotel, located at Nile Corniche, Cairo, which belongs to Qatari Diar. He will return today night or tomorrow morning.
Emadi's visit is the first official visit of a senior Qatari official to Egypt since the Gulf Crisis in 2017.
St Regis is situated in a distinguished location between the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square and the Arab League.
Diar had obtained the required operation license, but the hotel's opening was delayed for more than six years.
