After more than 18 years of suspension, the first plane landed at Heathrow Airport in London.
A fire at an electrical substation in West London caused major disruptions at Heathrow Airport on Friday, leading to a temporary closure of the UK's busiest airport.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed that the blaze, which broke out at the North Hyde substation near Hayes, has been brought under control.
At least 1,350 flights to and from Heathrow Airport were affected, according to the flight-tracking website FlightRadar24.
The disruption forced Heathrow to divert incoming flights to other major airports, including Gatwick, Dublin, and Paris.
The fire not only affected the airport but also caused significant power outages in surrounding areas, leaving over 16,000 homes without electricity.
