At least 19 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and many others wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting the Nusairat refugee camp and Al-Shuja’iya School, which shelters displaced families in Gaza’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, 12 Palestinians, primarily women and children, were killed after Israeli airstrikes leveled two homes in the Nusairat refugee camp, located in central Gaza.

Among the victims were seven children and three women from a family that had fled Gaza City, while two more women were killed in another airstrike in the camp. Additionally, an elderly man was shot by an Israeli "quad-copter" drone as it fired at civilians in the new area of the Nusairat camp.

In Gaza City, seven Palestinians lost their lives, and several others were injured after Israeli strikes targeted Al-Shuja’iya School, which housed displaced residents from the Al-Tuffah neighborhood.

The strikes also claimed the lives of additional civilians, including children, following a bombardment on an apartment near the gold market in Gaza's old city.

Israeli artillery also fired shells, alongside gunfire from military vehicles, at the Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods in southeastern Gaza City, with residential buildings also destroyed by Israeli forces in the southern city of Rafah.

The death toll in Gaza has now surpassed 41,615, with the majority being women and children. The number of injuries has risen to 96,359 since the onset of Israel’s military campaign on October 7.

Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, as Israeli forces continue to prevent ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching them.
