Brazilian authorities announced that floods and landslides caused by heavy rains killed at least 19 people over the weekend in the state of Sao Paulo.
The state government said in a statement that 228 more people were left homeless and 338 people were evacuated from the coastal area north of Sao Paulo, while rescue crews are working to help those affected by the storm.
