The 18th humanitarian aid convoy lined up on Monday in preparation to cross from Egypt into the Gaza Strip, amid continued accusations that Israel is obstructing relief deliveries with “baseless pretexts.”

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said trucks carrying essential supplies — including wheelchairs for people with disabilities, intensive care unit beds, blankets, and sheets — have repeatedly been denied entry at the border. “Some items were rejected simply because of their color,” he said, describing the Israeli stance as “extreme arbitrariness.”

Abdelatty stressed that humanitarian aid for Gaza “is not a grant from Israel but a legal responsibility under international law.” He vowed that Egypt would continue pressing and mobilizing international opinion until relief supplies are allowed full and unhindered access.

On the possibility of a ceasefire, the minister said an agreement could be reached “very soon” if Israel demonstrates the political will and good faith to halt hostilities. He added that Egypt is actively engaging with all parties, including Hamas, and urged maximum flexibility and responsibility to make an accord possible.
