The Tokyo Olympics organizing committee said 18 new coronavirus infection cases related to the Games have been confirmed, according to Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK).
Officials said the figure announced on Sunday includes one athlete from overseas.
The latest tally brings the total number of infections connected with the Games to 259 since July 1, when the committee began announcing case numbers.
